Morgan Philpot Announces Support for Mike Lee
June 18, 2010 – Alpine, Utah – Morgan Philpot,
Republican Nominee for Utah's Second Congressional District, has
announced his support for U.S. Senate Candidate Mike Lee. In announcing
his support for Mr. Lee, Morgan Philpot stated: "I believe that Mike
Lee is uniquely qualified to tackle the difficult challenges we face as a
nation."
"From the beginning, Mike Lee
has stuck to one consistent message: return to the rule of law in
America and to the Constitution," said Morgan Philpot. "If the U.S.
Senate were to embrace the principles of American Federalism, our budget
would be balanced; our debt and deficit would decrease; and we would
see an unprecedented economic boom in America."“We are fortunate in Utah to have two good men running for the United States Senate, and I know the safe political move for me would have been to sit this one out. However my time in politics has not been characterized by sitting on the fence. I believe in authenticity, leadership, and standing for what you believe in, which is why after thoughtful consideration, I have chosen to endorse Mike Lee. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with Mike in Congress," said Philpot.
Addressing the significance of this endorsement, Lee remarked: "Morgan has always been a solid and well respected leader among Republicans. His excellent service in both the state legislature and the state Republican party are well known, and I'm pleased to receive his support."
Philpot's endorsement of Mike Lee is now combined with like-minded Utah leaders including Norm Bangerter, Mark Shurtleff, Jim Hansen, Stephen Covey, Carl Wimmer, and former U.S. Senate candidates Merrill Cook, Leonard Fabiano, and Jeremy Friedbaum. Additional local endorsements include more than 35 leaders of grassroot groups including Tea Party and 9/12 groups, more than a dozen members of the Utah state legislature, and scores of key business executives and entrepreneurs throughout the state.
