I need your help. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke recently finished his visit to the state of Utah as part of his review of controversial national monument designations. The top monument designation on Secretary Zinke’s list is the Bears Ears National Monument and whether he should recommend rescinding this designation.
Secretary Zinke met with elected officials, the tribes and environmentalists who support the monument designation, and the local communities that are impacted most by the designations. He is now evaluating the feedback he received.
For the first time ever, the Department of Interior has opened a public comment period to gather public feedback on these national monument designations.
I hope you will take a few minutes to leave your comment. Here is how to do it:
Type: DOI-2017-0002-0001 into the SEARCH BAR
Then just click on the blue “comment now” button and leave your comment.
One more thing…
My campaign team and I have been optimizing online ad campaigns to help us find Americans who want to join us in this effort to rescind the Bears Ears National Monument.
Right now there are approximately 47,000 comments already submitted as part of this review.
Based on current performance levels, we believe if we can raise $10,000, we can identify and mobilize tens of thousands of Americans who will join us in this fight. Every dollar we raise from this effort will be used to find more people to join us in this effort.
The comment period for Bears Ears ends on May 26, so we only have 9 days to make as big of an impact as we can.
p.s. if anyone else you know is passionate about this issue please forward this to them. Time is short and we need all the help we can find.
